Abstract

The aim of the School of Medicine is to educate students. In this study, the benefit of the students after the training program of Urology was reviewed with an inquiry.

One group of the student was included in this study during three weeks of Urology training program in Erciyes University School of Medicine. A written examination was performed of the end of training period. The inquiry about Urology training was distributed after the results of examination announced. Evaluation was done at the end Phase V.

One hundred twenty nine of the 249 students who attended Urology training program filled the inquiry form. The duration of training program (three weeks) was found as an enough time for learning Urological concepts by the 80% of the students. Training program was appraised as a necessary, easy and useful in a rate of 73%. The positive comment of the students about the lectures which were given by teacher was detected 66% (min-max: 60-78). This rate for the practical application was 91% (min-max: 68-93). In the beginning period of the education, while 15% students wanted to have a lecture for TUS, this rate was 39% after the education period.

Last years, there are some important problems for medical doctors in Turkey. These problems reveal the losing of interest against lecture and practical application for medical students. For this reason, it is necessary that the students must be motivated the clinical education.
