Abstract
Transpubic anastomotic urethroplasty was performed in 6 boys with posterior urethral strictures secondary to pelvic trauma. We aimed to review the method and results of treatment. Postoperative recurrent strictures occurred in 2 boys, and one out of them was treated successfully by internal urethrotomy. No urinary incontinence developed in patients without stricture. TAU provides an excellent exposure and a tension-free anastomosis. Transpubic approach is a preferable procedure when required selectivity is established in patients with long gap urethral stricture.
