In our study, 105 cases were separated into 4 groups. The first group of 30 with a daily doxazosin intake of 4 mg., the second group of 30 with a daily doxazosin intake of 8 mg., the third group of 30 with a daily doxazosin intake of 8 mg. and with a daily finasteride intake of 5 mg. and the conirol group of 15 with plasebo intake were constituted. In the 6th and 12ih months of the therapy, prior to the study, urollowmetry, residual urine end prostate volume for objective criteria and I-PSS as well as PSA for subjective criteria were examined.
Statistically significant improvements were observed in all parameters except prostate weights and PSA values of the first and second groups having only doxazosin. All the parameters of the third group had more significant statistical improvemenis in comparison with the first and second groups. None of these parameters improved remarkabiy in the conlrol group.
İn the ireatmeni of BPH, (he combined administration of doxazosin and finasteride is more effective then sepa- rate administration.
