SQUAMOUS CELL CARCINOMA OF THE PENIS IN A PSORIATIC PATIENT: A CASE REPORT

Penile cancer is an uncommon malignancy and 95 %of penile cancers are the squamous form of the penile tumors. Its incidence is 0.4 – 0.6 % of all male malignacies in USA, Europe and 10 % in South Africa. It is frequently seen in elderly men. The most consistent etiologic factor is the presence of an intact foreskin due to hygienic standards and the diversity of the cultural and religious factors. Chronic irritation of the smegma in uncircumcised and phimotic patients may cause tumaral differantiation. Herpes simplex virus and human papilloma virus type-18, tobacco and psoriasis are the other ethiologic factors associated with the squamous cell carcinoma of the penis.

We present in this report a rare case of penile cancer due to psoriasis without any ultraviolet and radioterapy before.
