Abstract

To find out the distribution of prepuce Tetractibility types and incidence of circumcision for ages and to evaluate the need for circumcision or retraction of the prepuce.

775 healthy boys -between zero to 12 years old- were evaluated for the types of preputial retraction (0-364) and whether they were circumcised (n411). The degrces of retraction: I-no retraction of prepuce at all, M-only external urethral mcatus can be seen, Ill-retraction to the half of the glans, IV-retraction above the corona, V- complete retraction. |

While the ratios of type 1 and TI prepuce were 91.3 96 in 0 to 30 days old boys, the ratios of type 1 and V for the boys between 7 to 12 years old were 1.8 94 and 49.1 46, respectively,. The ratio of circumcision in boys younger than one year was 1.1 Yö, and all boys older than 12 years old had been circumsized. Only one patient had mild balanitis. i

The difficulty in the retraction of prepuce must not be the reason for circumcision unless there are recurrent urinary tract infections or balanopostitis, since the degree of retraction improves by the time, spontaneously.
